Before you rebuild or spend on ads, try these fixes first. Most websites lose customers because of a few fixable problems.

# How to Get More Customers From Your Existing Website

The short answer: Before rebuilding your website or running ads, fix these first: your headline (make it customer-focused), your call to action (make it obvious), your page speed (under 3 seconds), and your social proof (add real reviews). Most websites lose customers because of a few small, fixable problems.

Step 1: Fix Your Headline

Your homepage headline is the most important line on your site. If it talks about you instead of your customer, you are losing people.

Change: "Welcome to [Business Name]"

To: "We Help [Specific Customer] [Get Specific Result] in [Timeframe]"

Example: "We Build Websites That Bring More Clients to Small Businesses, Delivered in 7 Days"

Step 2: Make Your Call to Action Impossible to Miss

Every page should have one primary action you want visitors to take. Make the button large, high-contrast, and in plain language.

Instead of: "Submit" or "Learn More"

Use: "Book a Free Call" or "Get My Quote" or "Start My Project"

Step 3: Speed Up Your Site

Go to PageSpeed Insights (pagespeed.web.dev) and test your site. If your mobile score is below 70, you are losing customers to slow load times.

Quick fixes:

  • Compress all images to WebP format
  • Remove unused plugins or scripts
  • Use a fast hosting provider

Step 4: Add Real Social Proof

People trust other people more than they trust businesses. Add:

  • Google Reviews (embed them directly)
  • Client results with specific numbers ("40% more inquiries in 30 days")
  • Before/after examples if relevant
  • Logos of businesses you have worked with

Step 5: Make It Easy to Contact You

Put your phone number and email in the header and footer. Add a booking link. Remove friction, the more steps to contact you, the fewer people will.

Step 6: Check Your Mobile Experience

Open your website on your phone right now. Is it easy to read? Is the button easy to tap? Is the text large enough? If not, you are losing more than half your visitors.

Step 7: Add a Clear Services Page

A services page with prices, timelines, and what is included closes more leads than a vague "contact us for pricing" page. Transparency builds trust.

If you fix these 7 things and you are still not getting inquiries, the problem is likely traffic, and that is where SEO, social media, and ads come in.
